London-listed Power Metal Resources has started an inaugural diamond drilling programme at the Molopo Farms Complex project, in Botswana.

The drilling, at drill hole DDH1-6B, is targeting a large southerly dipping conductor that was identified by a moving loop electromagnetic geophysics survey, over six priority target areas.

The drill hole is located 530 m south of drill hole KKME1-6, which in December 2020 intersected significant nickel mineralisation.

The second diamond core drill hole, DDH1-6C, for which site preparations are under way, will be located 830 m south of KKME1-6.

The company is also interpreting preliminary geophysical data over more target areas and will announce additional drill targets in due course.

Power Metal maintains that Molopo Farms, in which it currently has an effective 53% economic interest, held through Kalahari Key Mineral Exploration, presents a possible district-scale nickel exploration opportunity.

The company plans to increase its interest in the project to 87.71%, pending regulatory approvals, which will result in Power Metal becoming the project operator.
