Project Description
By 2025, Sedibelo aims to source at least 50% of its total electricity requirements from renewable sources. It has, thus, embarked on a series of projects to provide renewable energy to its mining operations, subject to further feasibility studies.

Sedibelo plans two phases of renewable energy supply.

Phase 1 entails the provision of 47 MW of wind-generated power through a wheeling arrangement. The project is expected to provide about 50% of PPM’s energy requirements, starting in 2025.

Phase 2 entails the development of an on-site 50 MW solar facility, to supplement the wheeled wind power, which will be located at or near the PPM.
