North America-focused Piedmont Lithium has appointed Dawne Hickton to its board of directors,  the ASX-listed company reported on Tuesday.

Hickton is an accomplished leader in the aerospace, energy and metals industries, adding to the extensive manufacturing expertise of the directors and further diversifying the board’s executive, operational and strategic guidance of the company.

“Dawne is a transformative leader with cross-industry experience and a remarkable depth of expertise. She has been both a public and private company CEO and has established a record of leading organisations through important periods of growth,” commented president and CEO Keith Phillips.

Piedmont’s goal is to become one of the biggest lithium hydroxide producers in North America by processing spodumene concentrate produced from assets where it holds an economic interest. Its projects include the Carolina lithium and Tennessee lithium projects in the US and partnerships in Quebec with Sayona Mining and in Ghana with Atlantic Lithium.
