London-listed Petra Diamonds will hold the first tender of rough diamonds recovered from the Williamson mine, in Tanzania, since the restart of operations, later this month.

The mine was placed on care and maintenance in April 2020 in order to preserve its liquidity, at a time when diamond pricing was impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. Operations resumed in the quarter ended September 30.

The tender will be held in Antwerp from November 19 to 26 and will include a parcel of about 26 000 ct of diamonds.

The parcel includes a 32.32 ct pink diamond.
