Mining services company Perenti has announced that its underground mining businesses have been awarded contract extensions valued at A$420-million.

This includes a 12-month, A$125-million contract extension to continue underground development and production works at Gold Fields' Agnew underground gold mine, in Australia, a 12-month, A$180-million contract extension at AngloGold Ashanti’s Obuasi underground gold mine, in Ghana, and a two-year, A$115-million contract extension for existing underground development works at the Roxgold Yaramoko underground mine in Burkina Faso.

“We pride ourselves on our enduring relationships, so we are especially pleased to be continuing our relationship with these long-term clients,” commented MD and CEO Mark Norwell.

Perenti’s contract mining division is now led by Gabrielle Iwanow.

The new contract awards, combined with previously announced contracts worth A$360-million, mean the team has secured nearly A$900-million of revenue for the business, Iwanow pointed out.
