Operations at the Manatial Espejo, COSE and Joaquin mines, in Santa Cruz, Argentina, have been suspended following an employee fatality at the COSE mine, Nasdaq- and TSX-listed Pan American Silver reported on Monday.
The employee died in a fall-of-ground incident, the world’s second largest primary silver producer said.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic accident and extend our thoughts and sympathies to the employee's family and co-workers," president and CEO Michael Steinmann said in a media statement.
The operations would be restarted in coordination with the authorities and union following a safety assessment.
