Original parts a must – supplier

FORK-FIT Criterion equipment stresses that the correct original-equipment manufacturer parts should used when repairing and maintaining the vehicle

Heavy lifting solutions provider Criterion Equipment, which specialises in the supply and support of TCM forklift trucks, stresses that the local market must invest in quality branded replacement parts.

“We encourage consumers to take special care when sourcing spare parts for forklifts from non-authorised suppliers,” says Criterion Equipment MD Brenton Kemp.

He adds the company considers the safe operation of forklift trucks as one of the most critical aspects in materials handling in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution centres, construction sites and transport facilities.

Notably, Criterion Equipment is part of the Capital Equipment Group of Invicta Holdings.

He stresses that using the cor- rect original-equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts minimises downtime of a machine and ensures efficient, safe and extended service life.

Additionally, it is critical that forklifts are regularly serviced, professionally load-tested and that high-quality replacement components form part of the maintenance programme, he says.

“The initial investment in quality branded parts ensures greater safety, long-term savings and higher productivity.”

Genuine replacement parts, which are designed for the specific forklift brand and model, ensure precise compatibility and guarantee optimum performance.

“Criterion Equipmenta supports its range of forklift trucks with a comprehensive stockholding of high-quality and OEM-approved components, which includes engine and electrical components, chains, bearings, filters and accessories,” he says.

He points out that Criterion Equipment’s dedicated parts departments, located in major centres throughout the country, ensure the correct part is availble whenever it is required, to minimise downtime.

“Our field service teams assist our customers to resume normal operations as quickly as possible in the event of a breakdown, by providing reliable on-site maintenance, repairs and service of machines,” he says.

According to Criterion Equipment specialists, sub-standard replacement parts may look the same as quality branded components, but some spares do not comply with a machine manufacturer’s stringent specifications.

Inferior components often have a poor fit, inadequate tolerance and inferior welding, resulting in compromised quality, performance and safety.

Genuine parts, which are manufactured to the industry’s highest quality and safety standards, undergo an immaculate production process and thorough testing.

Strict manufacturing and testing standards reduce the risk of premature failure, which results in accidents and injuries in the workplace.

Criterion Equipment advises its customers to maintain high productivity, by implementing a regular in-house maintenance programme.
