PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Mineral Commodities has temporarily halted operations at its Skaland graphite operation, placing the mine in care-and-maintenance, following a national workers strike in Norway.

The company said on Friday that negotiations between the country’s two main unions and employer’s representatives have broken down this week, resulting in the strike.

Mineral Commodities has not been involved in these negotiations.

The company told shareholders that mediation between the unions and employers' representatives was ongoing. Mineral Commodities would continuee to monitor the situation closely.

The company said in Friday that given Skaland operates at close to breakeven, this is expected to have limited impact on the financial performance of the company. Skaland has been operating in line with budget expectations in 2023 until this point.
