TSX-V-listed Nordic Gold has finalised a drilling programme for the Laiva project, placing the company a step further in its quest to restart the Finland gold mine.

Nordic worked with Coffey, a Tetra Tech company, to determine the proposed drill programme, which is designed to infill drill targets for the third pit within 200 m of the existing pit, infill drill the lode extensions and infill drill the two pits currently open.

The programme will include 146 holes drilling between 10 000 m and 15 000 m, depending on the depth of the zones of mineralisation.

“The drill programme is the culmination of the last few months of working closely with Tetra Tech and Lionsbridge. The results of the plan will inform the restart document planned for release in December,” said CEO and president Brian Wesson.

The mine was placed on care and maintenance in February, after Nordic terminated its contract with its underperforming mining contractor. The company has subsequently restructured its board and management.
