New Manitou telehandler makes Africa debut

AFRICAN DEBUT A new Manitou telehandler has arrived on African shores. The machine in the MHT-X range promises versatility and is seen as an ideal solution for all types of maintenance and servicing

Materials handling equipment manufacturer Manitou will unveil a new telehandler within its heavy-duty MHT-X telehandler range to the African market at this year's Electra Mining Africa.

With its heavy load capacity, along with its high boom reach, this versatile telehandler is the ideal solution for all types of maintenance and servicing,” the company says.

An external turning radius of 5.50 m and high ground clearance of 470 mm allow the new telescopic handler to manoeuvre easily on a mine site.

Accessories such as tyre and cylinder handlers, jibs, winches, forks and personnel cages promise versatility, while ensuring ultimate safety of the operator.

Daily demonstrations of the machine will be held at the Manitou stand.

Among the other machines on the Manitou stand will be mining specification 3 300 kg and 9 000 kg capacity telehandlers, a mining spec skid steer loader, a 16 m articulated telescopic access platform, as well as the MRT-X 2550 rotational telehandler with a 5 000 kg capacity and 24.7 m lifting height.

Besides showcasing its latest innovations in mining equipment, Manitou’s aftersales service and support will also be on display.

“Our customer-centric approach with an increased focus on aftersales service and aftermarket offerings has helped Manitou achieve significant growth over the years,” says Manitou Southern Africa MD Darren Hall.

He adds that Manitou offers various support services that allow customers to take full advantage of their machines and invited visitors to Electra Mining Africa to enquire about extended warranty offerings, as well as service and maintenance contracts to ensure maximum machine uptime. “This also helps ensure that Manitou equipment continues to comply with safety regulations and that it is maintained and serviced to original-equipment manufacturer standards.”
