JSE-listed ferrochrome producer Merafe Resources’ attributable ferrochrome production from the Glencore-Merafe chrome venture for the third quarter ended September 30 was 77 000 t.
Production for the nine months to September 30 increased by 64.6% year-on-year to 276 000 t.
Merafe attributes the increase mainly to current production being less affected by the Covid-19 restrictions, as well as improved plant efficiencies achieved at its smelters.
