Gold mining company OceanaGold has announced the appointment of Mick McMullen and Paul Benson to its board of directors.
McMullen, a geologist with nearly 30 years of experience, is the former CEO of Detour Gold and prior to that, he was president and CEO of Stillwater Mining.
Benson, a mining engineer with 35 years of experience, was CEO of SSR Mining prior to its merger with Alacer Gold. He was also CEO at Troy Resources and served in various senior management roles at BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.
“With the addition of both Mick and Paul, we are well placed to turn the corner on the business and re-establish ourselves as one of the premier gold mining companies in the industry,” comments nonexecutive chairperson Ian Reid.
