Lucapa makes bank on Lulo diamonds

PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Diamond miner Lucapa Diamond Company has reported A$17.9-million in revenues from the sale of four large, top-quality white diamonds, and two fancy pink diamonds recovered from its Lulo operations, in Angola.

The diamonds weighed a total of 336 ct, and were sold through an international tender by the Angolan State diamond marketing company.

Lucapa said on Wednesday that the latest sale brought the year-to-date sales from Lulo to a new record of $73.8-million, or A$98.8-million, from a record 25 844 ct, sold at an average price of $2 857/ct.
