Iron-ore miner Kumba Iron Ore has appointed Orion Minerals' CFO for South Africa, Michelle Jenkins, as an independent nonexecutive director, effective November 1.
“Michelle has excellent mining, corporate governance and audit experience which will further strengthen the Kumba board. The board looks forward to drawing on her knowledge and insights and congratulates Michelle on her appointment,” chairperson Dr Mandla Gantsho says.
Jenkins holds an Honours Degree in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Bachelor of Accounting Science (Honours) from the University of South Africa.
She has a wealth of knowledge in resource industry risk management and mitigation and strategic leadership.
