PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Gold miner Kingsrose Mining will place its Way Linggo operation, in Indonesia, on care and maintenance, after having completed the last production campaign, recovering 779 oz of gold and 6 481 oz of silver.

The company in April this year ceased mining from the Talang Santo openpit, with processing since then coming from stockpiled ore and mineralized waste.

Some 1 382 oz of gold and 8 075 oz of silver was recovered from the project in July this year, followed by 984 oz of gold and 7 224 oz of silver in August.

Kingsrose said on Friday that resource extension drilling is under way at the project as part of the company’s strategy to establish an inventory large enough to warrant the restart of mining and processing at Way Linggo, where the Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant resource at Talang Santo was currently estimated at 140 000 oz of gold and 352 000 oz of silver.
