ASX-listed Kingsgate has appointed Wayne Schiller, a mining processional with more than 30 years of experience, as the general manager for the Chatree gold mine, in Thailand.

Schiller will start work on July 18 and his initial focus will be on the refurbishment and recommissioning of the mine, which was placed on care and maintenance in early 2017 following a government order halting gold mining activities.

“We are delighted with the appointment of Wayne. With his breadth and diversity of experience at both the technical and operational levels, he will be a valuable asset to the company as work ramps up over the next few months to restore the Chatree gold mine to its former operational success,” commented executive chairperson Ross Smyth-Kirk.

Other senior appointments include Paul Mason as company secretary, following the decision of Rossy Cyle to step down from this position, and Daniel Weeks as senior manager for community and external relations.
