The Congo-Brazzaville government and Kanga Potash have signed a 25-year mining convention – a landmark agreement that ushers in a new phase of responsible resource development and economic growth for both parties, the potash miner states.

The convention sets out the terms for responsible mineral resource extraction and production, while upholding sustainability, as well as stringent environmental and social standards.

Kanga has invested more than $45-million to date in developing a potash mine in the country.

"Kanga is proud to have this extraordinary opportunity to play a pivotal role in transforming [Congo-Brazzaville] into a leading producer of fertilisers. Through responsible resource development, we are dedicated to fostering economic progress and sustainable development," says Kanga CEO Achim Strauss.
