The 8th edition of the Joburg Indaba is taking place online on 7th & 8th Octoberand participants can look forward to an unparalleled line-up of CEOs, Government, investors and industry experts from around the world who will come together to debate the critical issues facing the sector in these unprecedented times.

This year we are delighted to welcome for the very first time a South African Resources Legend, Sir Mick Davis, who will share with us his unique journey in the industry, his thoughts on what the industry has got right and wrong and his views on Eskom, all in conversation with Fiona Perrott-Humphrey of Rothschild & Co. London. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of the agenda. 

International investor contributions will be made from New York and London and will include Charl P. de M. Malan of VanEck, New York; Evy Hambro of BlackRock, London and Douglas Upton of Capital Global, London who will share their perspectives on mining investment in the current economy. And Olivia Markham, Managing Director, Natural Resources, BlackRock, London will chair a crucial conversation on capital allocation. 

We welcome Mark Cutifani, CEO, Anglo American, will give the opening keynote address on the morning of 7th October. 

Mxolisi Mgojo, President of the Minerals Council South Africa and CEO, Exxaro, will talk to us on the industry response to Covid-19 and the consequences for our journey to zero harm. 

We are delighted to announce that Mark Bristow will address the Joburg Indaba as President and Chief Executive Officer of Barrick Gold Corporation talking about Gold in 2020 and beyond. 

The Honourable Minister Gwede Mantashe will be giving the opening Ministerial Address on the morning of 8th October. 

André de Ruyter, Group Chief Executive of Eskom, will engage with us on the power utility’s current strategy and future plans. 

We are also pleased to welcome Sipho Pityana, Roger Baxter and Dr Martyn Davies, who will be taking part in what is sure to be a fascinating panel discussion on the outlook for the world economy, commodity markets, the South African economy and the mining industry.
