Aim-listed, Africa-focussed minerals exploration company IronRidge Resources has been granted an exploration licence for the Zaranou gold project, in Côte d'Ivoire.

It has also secured an extension to the exclusive due diligence period for the project.

IronRidge in February secured the right to acquire up to 100% of the project from GeoServices Côte d'Ivoire and Atlas Resources through staged earn-in arrangements.

“We are very pleased that the Zaranou gold project exploration licence has been granted ahead of schedule,” commented IronRidge CEO and MD Vincent Mascolo in a statement on Tuesday.

“The extension of due diligence allows the vendor additional time to complete in-country administrative processes, which have taken longer than anticipated.

“We are working closely with the vendors in preparation for the commencement of exploration programmes in the coming months.”

The Zaranou licence is located about 200 km northeast of the capital Abidjan, near the border with Ghana.
