Canadian miner Iamgold has appointed Christiane Bergevin to its board of directors with immediate effect.
She serves as senior adviser within the North American practice of Roland Berger, an international management consultancy; and as country head - Canada for Astris Finance, an international investment advisory firm in infrastructure and renewable energy.
"Christiane brings extensive experience in strategy, large-scale project management, financing, risk structuring, and sustainability to our organisation. Her experience and expertise will be a valuable asset to our board of directors and the entire organization,” said chairperson Maryse Bélanger.
From 2009 to 2015, Bergevin served as executive VP Desjardins Group, the largest cooperative financial group in Canada, where she led mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships and business development. She was also a member of Desjardins Group's finance and risk management committee. For the 19 years prior to that, Bergevin held executive positions with global engineering and construction firm SNC-Lavalin Group.
