A donkey carrying sacks of coal walks through a narrow tunnel of a coal mine in Choa Saidan Shah, in Pakistan’s Punjab province, where miners use the strong, patient animals to transport the coal they mine from underground to surface. The sacks weigh some 20 kg and the donkeys do many trips a day in an environment of acknowledged cave-in risk.
