Diversified miner and commodities trader Glencore on Monday announced that the head of its oil business, Alex Beard, would retire from Glencore, effective June 30.

The announcement of his resignation follows that of agricultural business head Chris Mahoney’s, as well as the departure of former copper executive Aristotelis Mistakidis in late 2018.

Glencore CEO Ivan Glasenberg also intends to retire within the next three to five years.

Beard will be succeeded by senior member of the Oil Products division Alex Sanna.

The reporting lines for oil assets will be transitioned to Peter Freyberg, who will now become head of the group’s industrial assets.
