Aim- and JSE-listed Gemfields has appointed Patrick Eugenio Sacco non-independent and nonexecutive director, effective immediately.
The company says Sacco has experience in the iron-ore, manganese, manganese alloys and chrome ore industries.
He is currently MD of, and an interest holder in Assore International Holdings, which, in turn, holds 26.66% of Gemfields.
Gemfields nonexecutive chairperson Martin Tolcher says Sacco brings significant experience and knowledge to the board and that the company would do well to use his African mining and international marketing experience.
