The Fruta del Norte mine, in Ecuador, has progressed significantly and remains on track to achieve the upper end of its guidance of 420 000 oz of gold, Lundin Gold president and CEO Ron Hochstein said on Wednesday.
Reporting third-quarter production results, he stated that Fruta del Norte produced 107 663 oz in the three months under review, taking nine-month output to 320 599 oz.
“The mine is now producing at 4 200 t/d. We have been increasing the average plant throughput and, with the completion of the mill expansion early in the fourth quarter, will achieve the expanded 4 200 t/d nameplate capacity as planned.
“I am very happy with how this second half of 2021 has begun and what the team continues to achieve,” said Hochstein.
Lundin will publish its third-quarter results on November 9.
