The San Jose silver/gold mine, in Mexico, has officially resumed production at nameplate capacity of 30 000 t/d, after it was granted approval on May 25 to restart operations.

Owner Fortuna Silver mines suspended production after the Mexico government on March 31 announced an isolation period to stop the spread of Covid-19.

The suspension of all nonessential activities, including mining, initially lasted until April 30, but was subsequently extended to May 30 with the possibility of restrictions being lifted on, or after, May 18, subject to obtaining specific government approval.
