Aim-listed Firering Strategic Minerals has achieved positive results from a core drilling programme at its flagship Atex lithium/tantalum project, in Côte d'Ivoire.

Pegmatite has been intersected in all 11 drill holes completed to date.

There is a potential new pegmatite field following the discovery of new pegmatites within the Atex licence.

There are also visible observations of lithium mineralisation in ten out of eleven drill holes.

All planned trenches have been completed and logged, with each trench showing the presence of pegmatites with apparent widths of up to 56.5 m.

The strike of lithium-bearing pegmatites is now confirmed for 700 m and still open-ended along strike and down dip.

All initially planned pits for metallurgical test work have been completed and sampled with an additional three pits planned.

Core splitting and sampling started on August 20 and the first batch of core samples will be sent to Intertek Laboratories for assaying and X-ray diffraction (XRD) on September 2.

First assay and XRD results are expected in the fourth quarter.

“The discovery of yet another potential pegmatite field in . . . our licence area provides further support of the potential of Atex becoming the next lithium development project in West Africa,” says CE Yuval Cohen.
