New high-tech wall saw range launched locally

Specialist in the manufacture, assembly, sales and support of diamond tools and equipment Diamond Products has introduced a new range of Titan high-frequency wall saws, which were introduced onto the market last month.

Diamond Products codirector Brian Clark highlights that the Austrian-manufactured Titan wall saws have greater life expectancy than their competitors, electric wall saws, owing to wall saws’ unique low motor-speed design.

“The motor speed is just 6 500 rpm, compared to the industry standard of 30 000 rpm, thereby ensuring a significant reduction in maintenance and service costs.”

With high torque and lower motor speeds, the Titan high-frequency wall saw can accommodate blades of up to 2 000 mm in diameter, with high performance and precision. Clark notes that Titan wall saws operate at maximum precision using ARIX G2X Diamond blades, in which diamonds are aligned in an almost grid-like system to allow for consistent drilling and sawing speeds

“In industry standard tools, diamonds are mixed randomly throughout the surface, which results in wear-and-tear, owing to the inconsistent workloads of different surface areas. With the alignment of diamonds in separate rows, ARIX technology ensures that each diamond carries precisely the same workload, allowing for quicker and more accurate cutting,” he adds.

Diamond Products director Darryl Gray says the technologically advanced Titan high-frequency wall saw can be diagnostically tested and even repaired using mobile phone technology.

“In the event of failure, Diamond Products can log into the Titan control unit using the tele- diagnostic service and telemaintenance system through mobile radio communication to identify and address the cause of failure.

“This technologically advanced system allows for parameters to be modified for special applications and also allows for the latest programme versions of the automatic control system to be transmitted to any control unit, regardless of time or location. The remote system also has tracking capabilities, thereby reducing the losses related to theft,” adds Gray.

He explains that another unique aspect of the Titan wall saw is that it can accommodate a drive pulley for wire sawing applications through a specialised pulley and storage attachments, which eliminates the use of large and costly machines.

“These attachments essentially make the Titan high-frequency wall saw a two-in-one machine and enables the user to select a cutting method appropriate to a specific application. Diamond Products ARIX razor wire is compatible with the saw and delivers an optimal cutting speed, while providing the contractor with an ideal cutting solution in the toughest applications,” Gray states.

Diamond Products’ new Razor wire is a result of extensive testing in the toughest local and international conditions. The new matrix delivers optimum cutting speed, coupled with excellent life and durability.

According to Clark, the blade and feed operations are electrically driven by a range of 11 kW to 22 kW motors, which eliminates the need for costly and bulky hydraulic power packs on site.

“The Titan high-frequency wall saw units are lightweight and compact, without compromising on power and durability, which ensure greater ease of transportation and improved utilisation of space. It also eliminates environmentally damaging leaks that are common in many industry-standard hydraulic wall saws,” he says.

Clark believes that the Titan range of wall saws will gain measurable market share across Africa in the short term. “Investment in infrastructural development is continuing to increase at an exponential rate; therefore, I am confident that the Titan high-frequency wall saw will be regarded as a viable solution to specialist sawing and cutting contractors that service the construction and infrastructure sectors.”
