Following on Cape Town-based contractor Scheltema winning an award at this year’s Southern African Institute of Steel Construction annual awards last month, the company is currently strengthening its management structure and market offering in order to maintain its presence in industry.

Scheltema won the award under the B&T Steel Factory and Warehouse category for the work done at Value Logistics’ new distribution centre in Cape Town.

The project entailed the installation of new Kliplok roof sheeting, IBR side cladding and Factorylite bulk insulation on two ware- houses and ancillary buildings, spanning a combined area of about 45 000 m2.

With this accomplishment under its wing, the company has also appointed Kevin Jones as the company’s residential and commercial departments head. Jones has 25 years’ experience in the ceiling and partitioning industry, as well as experience in the management of people, says Scheltema CEO Michael van Breda.

The company has also appointed Walter Viljoem MD.
