Canadian miner Argonaut Gold on Tuesday reported that a worker had died at its Magino project, in northern Ontario.
The company explained that the accident happened on Monday mid-morning and involved a contractor working on the construction of the mill facility.
"We are profoundly saddened by this accident. The safety of our employees and contractors is our highest priority and the loss of this individual is a shock to us all. We extend our deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones," said CEO Larry Radford.
Argonaut is working with authorities investigating the accident.
