Complete production line installed for South African limestone powder producer

30th September 2016

China-based crushing, screening and milling equipment supplier Kefid completed the configuration and installation of a complete production line for a South African limestone powder production site in August. The installation included a jaw crusher, a bucket elevator, a vibrating feeder and two sets of MTW175 grinding mills.

The 30-t/h-capacity mills feature a drive bevel gear, internal lubrication system, arc air channel and an advanced dust-removal system.
Kefid explains that chunks of limestone are fed into the jaw crusher for primary crushing, with a maximum output size of 25 mm. The material is then sent to the storage hopper by an elevator, from which it is continuously fed into the grinding mills by a vibrating feeder. After grinding, the material is classified by powder concentration and material that does not meet the required fineness is transported to the grinding room for remilling.

The closed-loop system runs under positive and negative pressure states.

New Products Launched
Following the success of Kefid’s VSI6S vertical shaft impact crusher, the company introduced the S5X series circular vibrating screen in June, which it claims has been highly praised by industry experts.

The S5X series circular vibrating screen is suitable for heavy, medium and fine screening. The inclination circular vibrating screen is well-suited to screening materials after primary and secondary crushing and can also be used for screening the final product material. It has a range of applications and is suitable for screening operations with a feeding size of less than 200 mm.
Kefid’s research and development engineers highlight that the S5X circular vibrating screen has a larger capacity and a higher screening efficiency than its competitors, and is suitable for large-scale aggregate crushing and screening operations at quarry, mine, highway and railway projects.

In May, Kefid also introduced the VSI6S vertical shaft impact crusher after a long period of research, development and continuous testing. The company says the crusher is an efficient sand crushing unit that was developed on the basis of Kefid’s patented VSI series.

The VSI6S’s feed opening and capacity have been greatly improved and the machine is capable of shaping material to produce high-quality sand and gravel aggregate to meet the construction requirements of highway, railway, hydropower station and airport projects, among others.
The machine features wear- reduction technology that greatly extends the service life of wearing parts and decreases the expense of having to frequently replace parts. It is also equipped with dust- removal equipment to meet environmental standards.

The Kefid VSI6S offers efficient crushing with an impeller structure that features four openings to improve throughput capacity. Crushing efficiency is, thus, increased by about 20%, compared with earlier models.
