JSE- and TSX-listed Buffalo Coal confirms that another of its employees has tested positive for Covid-19.

This time, an employee working underground at its Aviemore operation has been affected.

The miner initially reported an employee working at its Dundee-based processing plant tested positive.

Buffalo then requested seven other employees to self-isolate and facilitated their Covid-19 testing, which resulted in the latest positive result.

The company suspended an afternoon production shift when the results came through and again, as with the first case, initiated contact tracing protocols and self-isolation of certain employees.

Buffalo assures stakeholders that it will continue to closely monitor the expected negative impacts of Covid-19 on its employees and its operations in a responsible manner.

The company holds a majority interest in two operating mines through its 100% interest in Buffalo Coal Dundee, a South African company which has a 70% interest in Zinoju.

Zinoju holds a 100% interest in the Magdalena bituminous mine and the Aviemore anthracite mine in South Africa.
