BTECH Process, Diemme® Filtration partner for joint exhibition at EMA 2022

Liquid/solid solutions provider BTECH Process and filtration specialist Diemme® Filtration will be undertaking their first joint exhibition in South Africa at the 2022 iteration of the bi-annual Electra Mining Africa (EMA) exhibition, which will be held in September.

The decision to co-exhibit at EMA follows an agreement to partner on liquid solid separation projects on the African continent. The agreement, the companies believe, will enable both BTECH and Diemme® Filtration to deliver successful and advanced pressure filtration and dewatering projects, among others.

BTECH Process is a leading supplier of liquid solid separation equipment and aftermarket services in South Africa with more than 35 years of experience in solving complex dewatering challenges. Diemme® Filtration, meanwhile, has been operating in the field of pressure filtration for almost a century, and leads the market in advanced pressure filtration with its GHT5000F Domino Filter Press.

The combination of skills vested in these companies makes them a formidable team capable of delivering the best and most cost-effective dewatering solutions to customers, the companies state.

GHT5000F DOMINO FILTER PRESS

Considered the largest in the world, Diemme® Filtration’s GHT5000F Domino Filter Press – launched in November 2021 – has a plate size of 5 m x 5 m and is “bound for an as yet unnamed Peruvian copper mining company”, which will use it as part of a major new tailings project.

The mining operation will, at first, use the filter press as part of a pilot trial, following which it intends to use up to 10 of these presses to deliver a total capacity of over 80 000 t/d.

The environmental benefits derived from GHT5000F technology are “enormous”, the companies boast, adding that it will “feature prominently on the environment, social and governance (ESG) agendas of mining houses in the future when it comes to adopting a safer and more sustainable tailings management approach”.

The GHT5000F Domino Filter Press’ development follows as Diemme® Filtration identified the need to develop a solution that would “represent in terms of throughput and efficiency”, thereby making the filter press a “real game changer in the filtration industry”.

The machine also boasts a high degree of automation, and is equipped with the new Aida system tutor, which is designed to provide customers with real-time information on the status and performance of their filter presses via continuous function monitoring, and accessing the necessary data from a computer, smartphone or tablet.

BTECH, which has successfully delivered multiple dewatering projects to local project houses such as DRA Water, is Diemme® Filtration’s Africa agent and will be the point of contact for companies interested in the filter press.

BTECH specializes in the supply of capital equipment for liquid solid separation applications, and its services include detailed engineering, plant layouts and state-of-the-art three-dimensional scanning of brownfield sites.

Target companies include engineering, procurement and construction managers, as well as owners or operators that “need expert solutions for their liquid/solid separation challenges”.
