SAO PAULO  - Brazilian miner Vale will pay back power regulator Aneel roughly 781-million reais ($150.26-million) related to the Risoleta Neves hydroelectric power plant, a securities filing showed late on Thursday.

Vale continued to be paid for the operation of the Risoleta Neves hydroelectric plant even after it was damaged by a dam disaster in 2015.

Vale has proposed to return what it has received for the power plant operations from November 5, 2015, when the Fundao dam collapsed, killing 19 people.

The dam was controlled by Samarco, a joint venture between Vale and BHP Group.

The payments would be made monthly until December 2022, when the power plant operations are expected to resume, Vale said.
