Anglo-Australian diversified miner BHP has appointed David Lamont CFO, effective December 1, 2020.

He succeeds Peter Beaven, who will serve as CFO until November 30, but will continue to support Lamont into early 2021 for a seamless handover.

Lamont has been the CFO of ASX-listed global biotech company CSL Limited since January 2016. Prior to this, he was CFO at Minerals and Metals Group and various multinational public companies in a range of industries.

He also held senior roles at BHP between 2001 and 2006, including CFO of the company’s carbon steel materials and energy coal businesses.

BHP CEO Mike Henry says Lamont has built a strong track record of financial management with multinational organisations over many years.

“He will bring broad global experience across a diverse range of industries, including mining, deep financial knowledge and a clear focus on delivering strong results for the company and shareholders.”
