PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Graphite miner Syrah Resources on Thursday reported that mining and processing operations, and unrestricted logistics movements, have resumed at its Balama operation, in Mozambique, with a full complement of employees and contractors.

The company earlier this month restarted operations at Balama after illegal industrial action by a small contingent of local employees and contractors halted production in September.

Last week, Syrah noted that while full operational capability had been restored, with several logistical movements having been undertaken, further illegal industrial action disrupted a full operational restart and limited logistics movements.

The miner on Thursday said it was continuing to work through the periodic renewal of employment conditions under its company level agreement with the designated representatives of its unionised workforce.
