Wesizwe Platinum’s Bakubung Platinum Mine
The hot commissioning of platinum producer Wesizwe Platinum’s Bakubung Platinum Mine (BPM) processing plant, in the North West province, has again been delayed but is now scheduled to begin on June 5.
Wesizwe on May 30 announced that commissioning would start on May 31, after previous delays.
However, on June 2, the company reported that commissioning was once again delayed, this time owing to faults in the ring gear of the ball mill and the feeding mixing tanks of the tailing filter press.
Wesizwe has said production at the BPM is expected to start as soon as possible after the commissioning process of the BPM processing plant has been completed.
