JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Aim- and TSX-listed Bacanora Minerals has proposed Mark Hohnen, who has experience in the Japanese, Chinese and Korean markets, be appointed as a director.

The appointment, which was subject to regulatory approval and finalisation of terms, would bring to the company years of extensive international business experience in a range of industries, including mining and exploration, property, investment, software and agriculture.

“We are delighted to have attracted such an experienced and qualified operator, whose proposed appointment significantly strengthens our board and represents another positive endorsement of the Sonora lithium project and our ongoing progress in developing our assets,” said Bacanora chairperson Colin Orr-Ewing.

Hohnen continued to hold board positions at Wildhorse Energy and Swakop Uranium and was previously a director at Kalahari Minerals and Extract Resources and founding chairperson of Cape Mentelle and Cloudy Bay wines, as well as oil and coal company Anglo Pacific Resources.
