TSX-V-listed Aton Resources has announced another pleasing set of surface sampling results from the Abu Marawat concession, in Egypt, ahead of a reverse circulation drilling programme.

Aton collected 104 selective grab and non-selective surface channel samples from the Semna, Abu Gaharish, Bohlog, Sir Bakis and Massaghat prospects.

Of the 25 samples that were collected from the Semna prospects, returning assays included 27.6 g/t of gold, 25 g/t and just under 17 g/t.

Returning assays for 40 samples collected from the Abu Gaharish prospect included 67.5 g/t gold, 23.3 g/t and 16.5 g/t.

Notably, there were returning assays of 54.9 g/t gold and 48.4 g/t from the 17 samples collected at the Bohloh prospect.

Moreover, returning assays ranging between 9.62 g/t gold and 34.5 g/t were derived from the eight and 14 samples collected at the Sir Bakis and Massaghat prospects, respectively.

The results from the sampling programme provide confidence for the regional drilling programme that has now started, says Aton interim CEO Tonno Vakh.

Aton aims to submit an application for a mining licence at Abu Marawat later this year.

Vakh confirms that more test work on the Rodruin and Hamama West prospects is ongoing, with mineral resource estimates expected soon.
