The permitting process for a 50 MW solar plant at Proyecto Riotinto, in Spain, is in the final stages, Aim- and TSX-listed Atalaya reported on Wednesday.
The installation of the solar plant will not only reduce costs, but will also make a significant contribution to reducing carbon emissions at the copper mine.
The solar initiative will be one of the largest projects of renewable self-consumption in the industry.
