Nickel mining company Archer Exploration has appointed Tom Meyer as president, CEO and director, replacing Keith Bodnarchuk, who is stepping down to focus his efforts as co-founder and CEO of uranium explorer Cosa Resources.

Meyer is a professional engineer and veteran of the mining industry, with more than 23 years of experience in commodities and capital markets. Most recently, he was VP of corporate development at base metals miner Trevali Mining.

“In my view, the focused portfolio of nickel assets which Archer is in the process of acquiring is one of the most exciting and prospective collections that I have seen in quite some time. The flagship Grasset project, in Quebec, has significant expansion potential, while the Sudbury assets offer potentially high-impact exploration targets and optionality for funding and development. Finally, the highly prospective greenfield projects in northern Quebec and north-west Ontario round out what I believe to be a best-in-class nickel sulphide portfolio,” commented Meyer.

Archer is acquiring its nickel assets from Wallbridge Mining, which is turning its focus to gold.

Archer will next month hold a special shareholders meeting to approve the appointment of six directors to its board, including Meyer, mining investment banker David Cobbold, Vizsla Silver CEO Michael Konnert and professional engineer Christian Kargl-Simard. Wallbridge CEO Marz Kord and CFO Brian Penny will also be appointed.
