Appian appoints new female CFO

Appian Capital Advisory has appointed Monica Pinto CFO, effective immediately.

The investment adviser to long-term mining-focused equity funds says in a statement that Pinto will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the company at a group corporate and portfolio level.

She will also maintain relationships with banks and coordinate the finance and administration of fund vehicles.

Pinto has spent more than 20 years working in financial markets, most recently as CFO and co-founder of private equity fund manager Apis Partners, following on management positions at Portugal-based Banco Efisa and UK-based Marakon Associates.
