African Diaspora Forum mourns the loss of Nelson Mandela (06/12/2013)

The African Diaspora Forum (ADF) a federation of African Migrants community including
South Africans, working for an integrated Society free from any kind of discrimination
including Xenophobia, is saddens by the loss of our source of inspiration Ntante Nelson
Mandela gone last night on December 5 at 20h30, after a long time sickness.

Our organisation was built upon his statement emphasizing unity amongst the South African
populace in the aftermath of the 2008 xenophobic violence as we remembered one of his most
popular quote: “Never, never and never again shall it be that this beautiful land will again
experience the oppression of one by another and suffer the indignity of being the skunk of
the world”.

In the past five years, our work to fight discrimination, intolerance, violence and inequality
amongst people in South Africa has been largely guided by the example he set and his many
honorable messages of unity.

Our continent has lost a leader, the world has lost an icon, and we have lost a peace builder.
We shall live to carry his long-lasting legacy and emphasize on his messages of unity and
peace remembering that: “No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his
skin, his origin, his background, or his religion…For to be free is not merely to cast off
one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of other”. We
shall insure that unity reign and love lives as thought by him.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, Que son Ame repose en Paix, Tunakutakiya ma mupziko
ya heri!
