Sierra Leone President Julius Maada Bio on Monday told delegates at the 2020 Investing in African Mining Indaba that the country was seeking to attract greater investment in its mining sector.

He outlined the fiscal and legislative changes that had been introduced in order to attract more investment in the sector, as well as in the infrastructure sector that supports the mining industry.

Further, he acknowledged the need to invest in new technology and the skills development to support advances in technology.

Bio also spoke about the value of events like the Indaba, stating that it was a good opportunity for Sierra Leone to engage with industry leaders, financiers and policymakers about the future of mining.
