PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Copper miner Aeris Resources is expecting copper production from its Tritton operations, in New South Wales, to increase between 2022 and 2025.

The company told shareholders that operating changes made in January to focus on higher-grade ore sources at Tritton Deeps have started flowing through during March, with copper production targeted to reach between 18 500 t and 19 500 t in the 2022 financial year.

“The changes to operating strategy we made in January are now flowing through and we are on target to meet the 2022 copper production guidance,” said executive chairperson Andrew Labuschagne.

“We also now have a clear pathway to an 8-year-plus mine life at Tritton, based on known deposits, and with higher grade ore sources coming online, including Budgerygar and Avoca Tank, copper production is targeted to increase to over 30 000 t/y in FY2025.”

For 2023, Aeris has set a production target of between 20 000 t and 22 000 t at Tritton, while 2024 is expected to deliver between 21 000 t and 23 000 t.

“We are actively drilling a number of deposits, with mineral resource updates planned for later this year, and there remains considerable exploration potential on the Tritton tenements that provides the potential for further life-of-mine extensions,” said Labuschagne.
