The passing of Nelson Mandela is not only a very sad day in the history of South Africa and all of its people, but also for the whole world. The values and humanity that he brought to the world, despite considerable suffering over a number of decades, have touched people across the globe and especially South Africans far beyond what can be expected of any single person.

His leadership and statesmanship no doubt saved South Africa from the brink of civil war and disastrous collapse on many an occasion, and he can truly be called the Father of the New South Africa. The magnitude of his forgiveness and reconciliation was the major building block for our country, and the challenge and responsibility for South Africans, and people across the world, is to build on his immense legacy in order to make the world a better place for all.

Agbiz extends its sincerest condolences to the family of Nelson Mandela and trusts that they will find comfort and peace in this time of mourning and sorrow in their loss of a very dear loved one.

Agbiz salutes and celebrates the life of Nelson Mandela.
