The Chief Executive Officer of AfriSAFE, Mr. Femi Da-silva stated that the Torch Bearers category “recognizes individuals (under 40) who are dedicated to continuous improvement in safety or have raised awareness through various health and safety initiatives thereby impacting their world of contact.”

He added that the Shining Star of the award is usually got from the Torch Bearers category in recognition of the nominees’ dedication to their profession, whether in formal or informal setting.

According to him, 165 professionals were nominated in the category out of which 15 were selected as finalists by the Award’s panel of judges. He added that the finalists comprised eight Nigerians, two Cameroonians, two Kenyans, and one individual each from Zambia, Tanzania, and Ghana. “Ms. Scott’s emergence as the winner of this highly-contested category is a testament to her peerless professionalism and work etiquette,” Da-silva said.
