SA: Statement by AfriSake, apolitical and inclusive African business organisation, sends condolences to Mandela family (06/12/2013)
AfriSake expressed its condolences with the Mandela family after the death of former President Nelson Mandela. According to AfriSake CEO, Cornelius Jansen van Rensburg, former President Mandela's death is the end of an era in South Africa.
Mr Mandela will be remembered for his conciliatory role during the political transition to a democratic South Africa in 1994. His efforts to reach out to all groups in the country encouraged trust between communities which helped establish political and economic stability. His economic legacy includes inter alia the readmission of the country to world markets and stabling the economy.
"Former President Mandela's moderate approach after 1994 should set an example for the business community and policy makers. The economic challenges facing South Africa today require exceptional leadership, where property rights are respected, which guarantees justice for all and fosters trust between communities," said Jansen van Rensburg.
