RESTRICTED MOBILITY

Mining is merely moving from its 2015 annus horribilis to its 2016 year of misfortune. The share prices of mining companies are retaining their bottom-of-the-barrel penchant, commodity prices are remaining in the doldrums and oversupply is refusing to leave the scene. Still well in the red on global bourses, mining companies are continuing to turn off investors with the biggest of them all seeing the return of its Broken Hearted People tag and Anglo American unlikely to have much to celebrate if it does reach its centenary year in 2017. Bearish macroeconomic news flow continues to undermine commodity prices and leveraged companies are becoming increasingly exposed to rising financing costs.
