Redeployable solutions address economic downturn
Integrated redeployable camp solutions provider Weatherhaven RCS is focused on supplying major, junior and exploration mining companies with military base solutions in the form of its shelters for mine-site accommodation.
According to Weatherhaven RCS, its products are designed to be redeployed, making them ideal for easy relocation during the stressed economic climate.
The company recently sold a 150-man camp to a client in Zambia that requested the camp be upgraded, to a 200-man camp. According to Weatherhaven RCS, it was able to accommodate the upgrade owing to the flexibility of the products in its range.
Other mine-site accommodation projects the company has been involved in comprise the supply of ten specially designed ten-person fly or temporary camps that are ideal for manual relocation.
The camp comprised three fully equipped soft-walled shelters that included dormitory- style air-conditioned sleeping units, an air-conditioned diner and an ablution facility with showers and toilets, as well as wash basins.
The fly camp’s infrastructure support included internal and external water sewage and electrical reticulation, a water-purification plant using reverse osmosis and a biological sewage treatment plant.
Synchronised silent generators and lightning protection completed the camp.
Weatherhaven RCS’s shelters and containerised solutions are manufactured at canvas-related products supplier Canvas & Tent’s manufacturing facility in Ladysmith, KwaZulu-Natal.
In 2015, Weatherhaven RCS received ISO 14001 accreditation and Canvas & Tent Manufacturing was the Department of Trade and Industry’s Exporter of the Year at its premier business awards function.
The Canvas & Tent group comprises bushtech aluminium manufacturer Bushtec Safari and Bushtech Adventure, as well as tents and outdoor equipment supplier Tents Direct.
