Uranium miner Cameco has reported a positive case of Covid-19 at its Cigar Lake mine, but the company says that the operation in northern Saskatchewan is continuing to operate safely.

The individual has been in isolation since November 22.

Cameco says it is working with the Northern Population Health Unit and following all guidance.

The uranium major restarted Cigar Lake at the beginning of September, having been idled in March owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.
